EXERCISE TO INDEPENDENCE for the over 60’s
We run weekly Physiotherapist led exercises classes at Greyfriars Community Centre, BH24 1DW, www.greyfriarsringwood.org.uk
Join us on THURSDAY’S in the Main Hall
Our classes are fun exercises to great music and include a warm up, cardiovascular workout, strengthening section, balancing, cool down and a short meditation. We don’t go on the floor. All our classes provide safe and caring environment for you and there is always a qualified physiotherapist to talk to.
ADVANCED STANDING EXERCISE CLASS
This class is for anyone who wants to build up stamina, challenge and improve cardiovascular fitness, improve stability and balance, have a laugh and feel amazingly good afterwards. One third of the class is in sitting and two thirds of the class are in standing. The routines are changed every 4 months, so you will get the hang of it!
BASELINE EXERCISE CLASS
This class is for anyone wanting to improve their confidence, cardiovascular fitness, strength, balance and positive outlook on life. Half of the class is in sitting and half of the class in standing. The atmosphere is very friendly enabling you to pace yourself according to your own abilities.
SEATED EXERCISE CLASS
This class is for anyone less confident or less mobile, in a wheelchair or managing to walk short distances, who wants to boost their confidence, improve flexibility, co-ordination, cardiovascular fitness, strength while being in a safe environment. Most of the class is seated, but there is time to practice supervised standing up. You will meet lot of new like minded and supportive friends.
FIRST CLASS IS FREE, £6 per class after. No need to book just turn up each week.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that cover your heels and don’t slip. Please come 10 minutes prior the start for your first class to fill in a medical questionnaire.
